2022 Old Time Summerville Christmas

Formerly known as the Tree Lighting Ceremony, this event we do annually in Summerville, South Carolina, has become one of my favorites. Perhaps it’s the joyful ambiance. It might also have something to do with the Christmas lights. My old bedroom when I lived in Woodbine, Maryland, didn’t have any ceiling lights. Eventually, I began lining the walls and window with Christmas lights (you know the ones I mean…the kind that when one bulb burns out, they ALL go out). Every year I would add more and more until my bedroom looked light a float from Disney’s Main Street Electric Light Parade.

Anyways, I may have a Christmas light obsession I continue to feed as an old man. Who can say?

As I did last year, I filmed the whole damned thing and cut it together into a short film. I am ecstatic at how well it turned out, and I don’t often say that about my work as I am my harshest critic. There may be the slightest hint that I’m getting better at this whole cinematography thing. Again, who can say?

I had the best time making this one. Enjoy the show.
